Dear Friends in the Lord,
I apologize for this email coming out late today. I have been working with our Methodist Men this morning building a ramp for a member of our church family. I am glad that our men build ramps for many people, but I really appreciate that they are building one for a widow in our congregation today. I think of that verse in James 1:27, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” Please see the pictures that I have attached. There is a progression to the pictures. Also yesterday, I was visiting a home-bound member and his family. They relayed to me that a lady from our Ladies’ breakfast had come by and given them a visit and a Christmas present. I love hearing stories about people from our church loving each other. I think of that great verse of Jesus in John13:34, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
I look forward to being with you on Sunday to worship the Lord either at 9:00 or 11:00 where I will be preaching on worship. Have you ever heard a sermon about worship? If we are there together to worship, we need to hear from God about how He views and wants worship from us. Please take a few minutes and read Psalm 150 to prepare to worship the Lord tomorrow with your brothers and sisters in the Lord. This passage is short and will only take a few minutes to read. It is amazing how much truth God packs into this short chapter of the Bible. Also, please schedule some time to go eat lunch with the Chickasaw Diners after our 11:00 service at Los Tres Amigos in Saraland.
This week, I have the privilege to read some of the Lent Devotionals that have been turned in by people in our church. They were so powerful and personal. I can’t wait for the publication to come out, and everyone will see the spiritual depth and insight of people in our church. If you are on the fence about writing a one-page devotional, please do! If you need someone to help you get your thoughts together to turn into a one-page devotional, please come see me! I would love to sit down with anyone in our church for half an hour and help form your thoughts into a simple devotional. Please believe me, I can help you get a devotional created.
I look forward to being with you tomorrow as God’s family..
